Great Stories

Hi all! I have good cat stories about my darling kitties, so I thought I would type them down here so I can remember them because they are so... cattish.

Story #1: The Halloween Toilet  Disaster

So its Halloween, (Well more like three days before) and we are carving pumpkins. Having so much fun, and this is only a month after we got our cats, so they are pretty new to exploring the house and stuff like that. We put the finished pumpkins on the porch and lit candles in them, turned off all the lights and took pictures. Naturally. So, we go in, and we all like,  "Where's the kitties?!?!" And each one slipped out when we were putting the pumpkins on the back deck. We looked under the deck, and there was Hazel. We grabbed her and put her in the house, and she got so excited from her short first experience outside that she ran around the house, into the bathroom, and jumped on the toilet seat, only the toilet seat was up, so she fell into the toilet. She splashed around scrambled out, and ran all around the house, leaving little toilet water paw prints everywhere. Oh, and on my pumpkin, I carved at cat, not suspecting that the cat would strike back.

Story #2: Duchess in a Tree

My mom, brothers and I had left for about 2 hours, and my mom came home to 9/12 chickens massacred by coyotes (We got ten new chicks though, to cover up the gap) so my mom had left the cats outside so that they would not be cooped up all day, and so she found Hazel in the garage, and Toby, who was run up a tree. Toby was able to climb own on his own by my moms coaxing. But she could not find Duchess. My mom was so scared that Duchess was gone too... but then she looked up the tree that was on the other side of the drive way and opposite of the tree Toby was in... and Duchess was there, an estimated 40 feet high above our heads, on the lowest branch. So, we have neighbors who own a crane service, so they brought down a boomer crane, and my dad went up in a bucket to get Duchess. She was freaked out and scratched my dad plenty, but she came down safely. Duchess was panting with anxiety, but when we brought her inside and gave her some water, she plopped right down and started purring. She had no injuries, only some sap stuck in her fur. She was safe!!!

Story #3: Curiosity gave Hazel a Bath

So one morning, around 7:00am, I was awoke by a crazy thrashing in the next room, which was the bathroom. I got up super fast, and ran to the bathroom. I saw a brown and black streak run down the stairs, and I ran into the bathroom, and saw water in the bathtub slawshing out. It looked like a wave pool in there. So my mom heard it from downstairs, and she ran up too. We both stared at the bathtub wave pool, then we thought, "Oh! One of the cats must have jumped in the bathtub!!! We ran down stairs, and at the bottom of the stairs was Hazel, who looked like a drowned rat, licking herself. The night before, one of my brothers must have forgotten to drain the bathwater, so she jumped in thinking that it was empty. Poor Hazel!!!

Well, that's all for now... but cats keep going crazy!
